Seven days from now I will be up in the air flying towards my new home where I will be for five months. Away from home, away from my friends and my family here, and into a refreshing and welcoming new experience. It's unreal that it's really happening. I feel like it's just a faraway dream that's slowly approaching, but never really will. Things are starting to move faster though. I've just finished getting all the necessities I'll be needing for five months and the packing soon begins!
This is my final week here and the week of final farewells. It feels strange. I'll be coming back soon, but I'm still facing the fact that I won't have coffee dates and parties and dancing with my friends here for a while. And the fact that it'll be my first Christmas away from home. That is still something that's hard to grasp!
I'm looking forward to being back in Paraguay. Every time I go, I fall in love with the country more and more. It's a hot, dry desert land, but I think maybe I'm a desert girl at heart. I've definitely got South American blood running through my veins.
To be honest, I'm nervous about settling in over there. I've never been there for a long period of time. The longest was seven weeks. Five months is quite a bit longer than that. But I know I've got family and friends to help me out with everything. They'll take good care of me and help me figure out life.
I'm looking forward to a new chapter, a new adventure, full of excitement and funny stories. I'm also looking forward to blogging about my time spent there. I'm hoping to write regularly so you all can know what I'm up to and how it's going. I'll keep you all in the loop!
TTFN!
